One of my favorite Indian food trucks of all time!

First let me say sorry it has been 4 + months since my last post. I have no excuses.

DESI FOOD TRUCK 852, Second Avenue New York, NY. 10017 is easily one of the best Indian food trucks I have ever eaten from in my life. I'll take it one step further, it is one of my favorite spots for Indian food, period. They just do it right. Spiced right, proper portions and inexpensive prices. Not to mention all the food is dairy free! I had the Chicken Kati roll (5x in 3 days) and the Chicken Tika Masala (dairy free and freakin Montalicious). Enough with the chit chat, let get to the pics!!

Doesn't this just turn you on? I mean look at that chicken rolled up in that lightly fried  Paratha. I love Paratha, it is crispy, fried, flat bread that is so Montalicious I truly believe more places should start using it as a bread for any and all sandwiches.

Stall 16 a.k.a Shopsin's, a fine diner in New York.

In the Essex Street Market, stall 16 at 120 Essex St. in New York holds one of the most unique and delicious diners I have ever encountered... SHOPSIN'S! This place is full of character, good food and the longest menu (pictured below) that I have ever laid my eyes on. But all the hooey aside, the food, the real hero, is Monte-licious! And it's all they will let you photograph. I coulda swiped a few pics of the interior which is a 4 table (2 top) spot with 2 bar seats and 1 bench but the waiter, a fellow metal head, was super cool and I had to respect their wishes. But the place is sorta like a hoarders apartment with a lot of nick-nacks, pennant flags, etc. Back to the food! There are literally so many items on the menu I became overwhelmed and went something had a little bit of everything I like... So I had a sandwich where the bun is potato pancakes with an interior of eggs, bacon, and cheese. It was so good that I have dreams about it. Pictured above was my wife's meal, she had two breaded and fried pieces of corn bread with fried chicken, it was also extremely Monte-licious!!

I had to take this back to the hotel, but then I ate it as I walked away from the spot.

The place is pricey mc dicey, but in my opinion it is worth it. I couldn't afford to go regularly but every now and again is perfect. I also wanna mention the cool waiter plays heavy metal when it's a little less crowded, that is cool.

The Chicken Roti is my friend.

This is Gloria's Caribbean Cuisine in Brooklyn and I love this place! I only ate here one time on the recommendation of my good friend, Noel. It took us about 30 to 40 min to get here from Manhattan but it was well worth it! first, let me get the details outta the way: 764 Nostrand Ave

And this is what we came for... the Roti! The Roti is very similar to a wrap or burrito, but the wrap is made from a "wholemeal flour" or "atta flour" and at Gloria's it's filled with your choice of spiced meats: goat, beef, chicken, etc. I got the chicken! and I made the right choice.

Look under the hood of this mean machine. Nice and tender chunks of juicy white meat chicken smothered and stewed in Caribbean spices.

I am the man! And the Roti is Monte-licious! I told the guy running the place that if I lived near them that they would get to know me very well.

Interior shot. It's not very big and the seating is slightly uncomfortable. But the bathroom was really clean! And that is always a good sign!

The guy bendin over is the guy I said "you'd get to know me if i lived here" and behind him is a row of Roti's waitin to get to their hungry fans.

They also have Caribbean breakfast options which I heard are really good.

And if you want some music you can purchase some from a table right by the door as you enter or exit. And no to worry about what's on the CD, it is playing at a decent volume in the background in the place. I can guarantee I will be back at Gloria's the very next time I am in NY for a visit. You can count on that 100%!
